Gritting of roads is the responsibility of Norfolk County Council, firstname.lastname@example.org. Over the winter months its salting lorries are on standby 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Norfolk County Council cannot grit all of Norfolk’s 5,965 mile road network because of the time it would take and the cost. In times of sub-zero temperatures it will try to salt extra routes if it can. There are maps showing priority routes at www.norfolk.gov.uk/gritting .The NCC office for this area is at Gas House Hill, Aylsham 0344 8008009
Norfolk County Council are advising members of the public who phone asking for an extra grit bins to be sited on a highway to contact their local Parish/Town Council. Please note that currently there is no money available in Sheringham Town Council’s budget for the purchase of extra grit bins.
